PRODUCT / MOTOR MONITORING

Augur Forge Motor Condition Monitoring IoT Kit

An industrial motor monitoring kit combining motor-side vibration and temperature sensing, electrical current and voltage monitoring, and a local gateway for AC induction motors in Indian factories.

Supported motors and applications

Designed for AC induction motors from 1 HP to 500 HP, with local IEEE 802.11 connectivity. Confirm equipment compatibility with the plant team before installation.

Our focus is pumps, blowers, crushers and compressors in Indian factories. Share motor nameplates, driven-machine details, speed or drive information, duty cycles and recent failure history with the team. Motors at the same rating can have different mounting, operating and signal requirements.

Compatibility is a site assessment, not a blanket approval for every motor in this power range. Confirm variable-speed operation, unusual bearing arrangements, difficult mounting locations and any environmental or hazardous-area requirements before committing to installation.

Three connected layers

Motor Side UnitMotor-side vibration and temperature sensing.Sensor position, mounting method, measurement range and reporting interval.
Energy Side UnitElectrical current and voltage monitoring.Panel access, measurement points, sensor configuration and installation procedure.

Vibration, temperature and electrical measurements offer different views of a motor’s operation. Maintenance decisions should consider the operating load and the equipment’s history alongside the signals. An unusual trend is an investigation trigger; it does not by itself confirm a failed component.

Request the technical specification for your proposed configuration. Frequency range, sample rate, accuracy, storage duration, export format and alert delivery are details to agree in writing. This page does not assign unverified values to those specifications.

Installation requirements and limitations

  • Mechanical access: identify safe, repeatable mounting positions. Agree on access around guards, couplings and hot or moving equipment.
  • Electrical access: a qualified plant team must approve panel work, permits and isolation. Current sensing does not make an electrical enclosure safe to open while energised.
  • Connectivity: survey the proposed IEEE 802.11 link at the equipment and gateway locations; a nearby office network does not establish coverage on the plant floor.
  • Environment: document heat, moisture, dust, chemicals and cleaning practices. Confirm all necessary ratings and certifications for the intended location.
  • Operating context: provide load, speed and maintenance records where available. Commissioning must capture representative operation, not just a brief idle run.

Schedule installation with production and maintenance. Duration and interruptions depend on access and the agreed configuration; confirm them before the visit. Monitoring supports maintenance planning and does not replace machine protection, interlocks or required inspections.

What a useful maintenance output should explain

The example below is a proposed review format to agree during a pilot. It is illustrative, not a screenshot, a customer result or a claim that every listed field is currently automated.

Illustrative investigation note · Example pump P-101
Observation
Vibration trend changed relative to comparable operating periods.
Context to check
Motor speed, pump duty, recent work, temperature and electrical trends.
Current interpretation
Cause unconfirmed. Validate measurement quality and operating conditions.
Next action
Maintenance owner reviews the data and plans a safe inspection if warranted.
Close-out evidence
Record inspection findings and compare measurements after any corrective work.

Evaluate the kit on 3–5 critical motors

Start with a six-week pilot and agree on success criteria with the plant team. Review detected anomalies, inspection evidence and projected savings before expanding. Savings and warning lead times depend on the equipment, operating conditions and the fault; projections are not guaranteed results.

Review published subscription and hardware pricing and request a scoped quotation. Our predictive maintenance buyer’s guide covers total cost, deployment constraints and supplier evaluation.
